Netflix released new posters of its upcoming film The Mother, featuring Jennifer Lopez. The trailer will release on Wednesday.

The actor-singer will be essaying the role of former assassin, who is coming out of retirement when her daughter is in danger. Lopez's character shares a turbulent relationship with her daughter and tries to fix their bond.

“A military-trained assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she's never met from ruthless criminals gunning for revenge,” reads the synopsis of the film. Expected to be an action drama, the film is directed by Niki Caro who previously directed Disney's Mulan. Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick and Gael García Bernal are also part of the cast.

The film will premiere on Netflix on May 12.
