Warner Bros likely to make series based on Harry Potter

A television series based on the hit franchise Harry Potter is on the cards, with Warner Bros Discovery inching towards signing a deal to produce the project.

If reports are to be believed, the series will be directly based on the JK Rowling books and not a spin-off set within the wizard world. Bloomberg report also stated that each of the seasons will derive its narrative from each of the seven books published. However, an official confirmation from the makers is yet to be made.

The upcoming project will have Rowling involved in the creative process but will not serve as show runner.

It is to be noted that Warner Bros has earlier developed each of the book into a film, which released between 2001 and 2011. While the first six parts were made into a single film each, the last one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were divided into two films.
