Halo Season 2 starts filming in Iceland

CE Features

Production begins on the second season of the Paramount + series Halo, filming to take place in Iceland. The sci-fi series is an adaptation of the massively successful video game franchise of the same name. The announcement was made through an official handle on Twitter that posted a picture of the actors in costume standing in an undisclosed location in Iceland. The post also carried a caption that reads, “The Spartans have landed in Iceland.”

Set in the 26th century, the show follows an epic war between the United Nations Space Command and a military alliance of advanced alien races who call themselves The Covenant.

The first season, which consists of nine episodes, started premiering on 24 March 2022. Upon release, the series was generally well received. Halo received criticism from the gaming community for its portrayal of the series protagonist Master Chief. It was noted that the character in the series deviated too much from his general description of the series.

The series was developed for Paramount’s streaming platform by writer/director's Kyle Killen and Steven Kane. The makers are yet to reveal a release date for the second season.
