Shia LaBeouf cast alongside Talia Shire in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis

Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, and Talia Shire are reportedly cast in Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming film Megalopolis. The veteran director is known for making films like the Godfather trilogy and the Vietnam war drama Apocalypse Now

Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne and Aubrey Plaza, Grace VanderWaal, Kathryn Hunter, and James Remar are also part of the cast. The film is reported to be self-financed by the director and has a budget of around 100 million. Talia Shire previously worked with the director on the Godfather trilogy. 

According to the director, the film is a contemporary drama where “The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and conflicted love.”

The makers of the film are yet to reveal details regarding the release plans for the film. The production for the film will reportedly begin towards the end of the year after casting and pre-production work have been completed.
