Filmmaker Rian Johnson has revealed the sexuality of detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig in Knives Out and its sequel, Glass Onion. While there have been fan theories that Benoit is queer, Johnson confirmed them during a recent press conference at London Film Festival.

According to Insider, a scene from the upcoming Glass Onion hints at the detective living with a man. During the press conference, when asked if this scene means Benoit Blanc is gay, Johnson responded with, "Yes, he obviously is." Speaking about the actor who portrays Blanc's lover, Johnson added, "And there's nobody in the world I can imagine in bringing me more joy for Benoit Blanc to be with."

Glass Onion, set to premiere on Netflix this December, follows Benoit trying to solve another mystery in Greece. The film stars Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

Another sequel is expected to follow.
