Zooey Deschanel, known for her roles in New Girl and 500 Days of Summer, will join the cast of Physical in its third season. The actor will return to TV after four years since New Girl ended its seven-season run in 2018.
Deschanel will reportedly be a series regular, playing a character named Kelly, a sitcom star who decides to enter the ‘80s fitness industry. Physical is a comedy-drama series created by screenwriter Annie Weisman for Apple TV+. The show had its premiere on 18 June 2021 and received generally favorable reviews. Following the response to the second season, which premiered on June 2022, the series was renewed for a third season in August.
The ensemble cast of the series includes Rose Byrne, Rory Scovel, Paul Sparks, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, Dierdre Friel, Ian Gomez, Erin Pineda, Grace Kelly Quigley, Wallace Langham, Murray Bartlett, and Anna Gunn.
The makers are yet to release a release date for the third season, although it is expected that the third season will premiere sometime in June 2023.
