The first image of Owen Wilson from the film Paint has been unveiled. The image features Wilson as a painter with an uncanny resemblance to the late Bob Ross. However, the actor is playing a character named Carl Nargle, a popular and beloved public television artist. Yes, the description does sound similar to Bob Ross, but the film is not a biopic.

The film tells the challenges faced by Nargle when a younger artist on the rise poses a threat to his throne. The film is directed by debutant Brit McAdams and also stars Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus, Stephen Root, and Lucy Freyer.

The film is currently in development in IFC Films with Sam Maydew of Silver Lining Entertainment bankrolling. Paint is set to release in the US in theatres on April 28.

Wilson, on the other hand, was recently seen in Secret Headquarters and also has Disney's horror comedy Haunted Mansion coming up.
