Actor/comedian Seth Rogen will reportedly write, direct, and star in a comedy series for AppleTV+. He will develop the series along with his long-term writing partner Evan Goldberg. Rogen and Goldberg have previously collaborated on projects like Superbad, This is the End, Sausage Party, and The Interview.

The series has reportedly landed on AppleTV+ after a bidding war with other streaming services. James Weaver will produce the series under his banner Point Grey Pictures along with Lionsgate Pictures. Rogen and Goldberg will be joined by writers Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory who had previously worked on the hit HBO sitcom Veep.

Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate previously collaborated on the dark comedy series Pam & Tommy in which Seth Rogen had a supporting role. Rogen also produced the R-Rated superhero series The Boys along with Point Grey Pictures for Amazon Prime Video. Seth Rogen will next be seen in Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film The Fabelmans.

The series will reportedly revolve around an old-school Hollywood studio trying to survive in a world dominated by streaming platforms and corporate-owned production companies where art struggles to survive along with the business side of the industry.
