In a recent interview, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that he will return to voice King Shark in future DC projects. The veteran actor made his first appearance in a DC  film as the humanoid shark mercenary in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad which was released in 2021. The actor registered his excitement over working again with director James Gunn.

The King Shark, also known as Nanaue, is a comic book character created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett. 

James Gunn, best known for The Guardians of the Galaxy and  Peacemaker, was recently made the head of film and television content related to DC comics along with Peter Safran. The King Shark character was a complete CGI with voice acting by Stallone. The actor had previously appeared in a cameo role as a ravager in James Gunn’s sequel to The Guardians of the Galaxy. 

Stallone recently made his television debut with the Paramount+ series Tulsa King in which he played the role of a man recently released from jail and trying to rebuild a mafia empire. 

James Gunn is currently busy working on the second season of the DC series Peacemaker starring John Cena as the titular anti-hero. Peacemaker is a spinoff series based on characters from The Suicide Squad.
