The first look image of Zac Efron’s role in the upcoming wrestling drama The Iron Claw has been released online. The film is a biography about the world-renowned wrestling family The Von Erichs. According to reports, Zac Efron went through an intense physical transformation to portray Kevin Von Erich, who was also known as the golden warrior. 

Jeremy Allen White, best known for his appearance in The Bear, is playing Kerry Von Erich while Where The Crawdads Sing fame Harris Dickinson plays David Von Erich. The Von Erich family is a professional wrestling family that dates back to the early 60s. Members of the Von Erich family have died under sudden and abrupt circumstances which gave rise to a myth known as the Von Erich curse.

The cast of the film also includes Holt McCallany, Maura Tierney, and Lily James in supporting roles. The film is written and directed by Sean Durkin, who is best known for making the 2011 thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene. A24, known for acclaimed horror films like Hereditary and Midsommar, has produced the film. Although the makers are yet to confirm a release date for the film, The Iron Claw is expected to hit theatres in 2023.
