Actors Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and director Paul Feig will return to make a sequel to their 2018 black comedy film A Simple Favor.

A Simple Favor, based on a 2017 novel of the same name by Darcey Bell, followed Stephanie (Kendrick), a small-town vlogger who tries to solve the disappearance of her mysterious and elegant friend Emily (Lively).

The film garnered critical commercial success, earning more than USD 97 million worldwide.

Fieg will helm the sequel which has a script written by Jessica Sharzer. Kendrick and Lively will reprise their roles from the first movie.

Lionsgate and Amazon Studios are collaborating for the sequel. Feig will also produce the project through his banner Feigco Entertainment along with Laura Fischer.

Meanwhile, Lively is all set to make her feature directorial debut with Seconds, an adaptation of the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

Kendrick, on the other hand, was most recently seen in the Netflix drama Stowaway and also starred in the first season of HBO Max's Love Life. She will be seen next in the thriller film Alice, Darling.
