CE Features

Archive 81, a horror podcast adaptation on Netflix has been cancelled after just one season, according to a Deadline report. The decision comes despite the show receiving moderate reviews from critics and decent viewership. The show was in the top 10 list on Nielsen and Netflix’s weekly rating chart. It also featured as the top US show to be streamed on Netflix for a brief moment right after its premiere.

Archive 81 starred Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi as archivist Dan Turner and documentarian Melody Pendras respectively. The Boys producer Rebecca Sonnenshine turned showrunner for this series produced under the banner of Atomic Monster.

The first season of Archive 81 was released on January 14 and a lot about Dan and Melody's story remains unsaid. Fans will now have to tune into the original podcast to know what happened to their favourite characters. According to Archive 81's official website, the podcast is a "found footage horror podcast about ritual, stories, and sound. It has released three seasons and two miniseries, with more to come."
