Alexandra Shipp on board Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling-starrer Barbie

Tick, Tick... Boom!-star Alexandra Shipp has joined the cast of Warner Bros' Barbie. The actor will star alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in an undisclosed role.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the script with writer-filmmaker Noah Baumbach. The film has Robbie playing the titular role and Gosling playing Ken. The cast of the film also includes America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, and Ariana Greenblatt.

Barbie is produced by Robbie under her LuckyChap Entertainment production banner along with LuckyChap’s Tom Ackerley. Robbie Brenner will also produce through Mattel, as will David Heyman via Heyday Films. LuckyChap’s Josey McNamara and Mattel’s Ynon Kreiz serve as executive producers.

Shipp found her breakthrough role in last year's Tick, Tick... Boom!. The actor is also known for starring as a younger version of Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Apart from Barbie, Shipp and Greenblatt will also star together in the upcoming thriller 65. Shipp recently finished filming on Kung Fury 2 and will star in Kyra Sedgwick's Space Oddity.
