Alicia Vikander replaces Michelle Williams in psychological horror film Firebrand

CE Features

Actor Alicia Vikander has replaced Michelle Williams in the upcoming psychological horror film Firebrand.

Written by Jessica Ashworth and Henrietta Ashworth, and directed by Karin Ainouz, the film tells the story of Queen Catherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of Henry VIII, and the only one to avoid banishment or death. The film will be narrated through Catherine's singular point-of-view of the psychological horror of living with a monster -- and the remarkable will to not only survive but thrive.

Vikander will star opposite Jude Law, who is set to portray Henry VIII in the movie. Firebrand is bankrolled by Brouhaha Entertainment.

Vikander is popularly known for winning the 2015 best-supporting actress Oscar for The Danish Girl. She most recently starred opposite Dev Patel in David Lowery's The Green Knight. She will be soon seen in the HBO limited series Irma Vep and in the sequel to her 2018 action film Tomb Raider.
