Actors Harvey Guillen, Belissa Escobedo, and Bruna Marquezine have joined the cast of DC's upcoming superhero film Blue Beetle. Written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, the Warner Bros. film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto.

Blue Beetle is headlined by Xolo Mariduena, who plays Jaime Reyes, a young Latino man who becomes a superhero in the DC universe after acquiring an alien super suit.

Marquezine is set to play Penny, Jaime's love interest, while Escobedo portrays Milagros Reyes, Jaime’s younger sister. Guillen's role in the film remains unknown.

Notably, in the comics, Jaime is the third to take up the mantle of the Blue Beetle. He eventually finds his way to become a part of the Teen Titans. Recently, the character became popular after its role in the second season of the animated series Young Justice.
