Actors Will Smith and Michael B Jordan are all set to star in and produce a sequel to the 2007 film I Am Legend.

The sequel will have a script penned by Akiva Goldsman, who also adapted the 1954 Richard Matheson novel for the first film. The project is yet to finalise a director.

In I Am Legend, Smith stared as Robert Neville, the only human in New York City to survive a deadly outbreak that stems from a drug meant to cure cancer which has turned the rest of the population into vampier-like creatures called the Darkseekers. The film grossed over $585.4 million worldwide. Plot details of the new film are yet to be revealed.

Goldsman will also serve as a producer on the project alongside Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo of Outlier Society, Smith, and Jon Mone. James Lassiter will serve as executive producer.
