Moses Ingram on board Lady in the Lake

Actor Moses Ingram of Obi-Wan Kenobi-fame has joined the cast of Lady in the Late, a new limited series currently in development at Apple TV Plus. According to reports, Ingram is replacing Academy Award-winning Lupita Nyong'o after the latter opted out of the project last month.

The series is an official adaptation of Laura Lipman's 2019 novel by the same name. Filmmaker Alma Har'el, best-known for directing the acclaimed 2019 film, Honey Boy. Har'el is co-writing the series with The Man In The High Castle writer Dre Ryan for the show.

According to the plotline, the series 'takes place in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother, Maddie Schwartz (Portman), to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist and sets her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Ingram), a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, many jobs and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore's Black progressive agena.'

The series also features Y'Lan Noel, Mikey Madison, and Brett Gelman in supporting roles.
