Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 1 has broken Bridgerton 2's record of becoming the most-viewed English series premiere on Netflix.

Three years since the previous season, the fourth instalment of the sci-fi series, created by the Duffer Brothers, began streaming on Netflix last week. With seven episodes being released in Volume 1, the other two are set for a July 1 release. 

Stranger Things Season 4 was viewed for 287 million hours during the week of May 23-30, landing in the No 1 position following its premiere on May 27,  reported Variety. 

The other three seasons of Stranger Things also made it back into the Top 5 titles for the same week.

Bridgerton Season 2 was viewed for 193 million hours over its debut weekend, which occurred during the week of March 21-27.

Stranger Things, which first premiered on the streamer in 2016, has already been renewed for its fifth and final season.
