We had previously reported that filmmaker Emerald Fennell's sophomore directorial, after her acclaimed debut feature Promising Young Woman, would be Saltburn. The filmmaker announced on Saturday that the filming of the project has begun while sharing a picture of the film's clapboard on Twitter.

Featuring Rosamund Pike, Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan in prominent roles, Saltburn is described as a story of obsession following a grand, aristocratic English family. Cinematographer Linus Sandgren, who won an Oscar for his work on the 2016 musical La La Land, will be lensing Saltburn. Further details related to the project are currently under wraps.

Fennell's first film fetched her two nominations at the 93rd Academy Awards, under Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, of which she won the latter.

On the acting front, Fennell will be next seen in Greta Gerwig's Barbie.
