Emmy Nominations 2022: Chadwick Boseman receives a posthumous Emmy nomination

The late Chadwick Boseman has been posthumously nominated for an Emmy award. The Black Panther actor, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 43, is nominated for his voice acting role in the Disney+ Marvel series What if…?

The actor had lent his voice for an episode titled T’Challa became a star lord, reprising his role as T’Challa from the Black Panther. The voice-acting role for the Marvel animated show was his last official performance before his untimely demise. 

Chadwick Boseman reprised his role as T’Challa for the animated show where the story of an alternate universe version of his Black Panther character was explored. Chadwick Boseman, who was severely ill with cancer at the time, had reportedly finished his voice work before his death.

The actor, who is also famous for his roles in 42 and Get on up, had previously won a Golden Globes award for his role in Ma Rainey’s black bottom, he was also nominated for an Oscar for the same role. The much-awaited sequel to his international blockbuster Black Panther titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release by November 2022.
