Ahead of the release of Dhanush's highly-anticipated Hollywood film The Gray Man, the actor attended the US premiere along with the cast and crew.

In an interaction with the media, Dhanush was asked how he became a part of this project to which he replied, "I don't know how I ended up in this movie. The casting agency one day told me that there is a Hollywood project and I was like ok. And, they were like it's a big film. Ok, so which film, what film. No, it's a big film and first we need your approval. Then I asked please tell me what film and then when they told me and I was like ahhhh and I said ok."

His response made everyone on the floor laugh out loud, including his co-stars Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. “I was thrilled and very excited. Of course, I don’t get to say much in the film. I was super thrilled and was looking for an opportunity to learn and explore,” he added.

Based on a 2009 novel by Mark Greaney, the Russo Brothers film is headlined by Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana De Armas, and Dhanush.

The ensemble cast for The Gray Man also includes Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Eme Ikwuakor, and Scott Haze.

Joe Russo wrote the screenplay with inputs from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film is being produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Russo Brothers, Mike Larocca, and Chris Castaldi. The Gray Man is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 22.
