The Batman did a test run screening of a four-hour cut of the film according to reports. Director Matt Reeves recently took to Twitter to confirm that the film was indeed screened recently, and in an IMAX screen too. However, recent reports suggest that lucky test audience got to experience a longer cut of the film.

The final runtime of the film, not including the end credits is 2 hours and 55 minutes. This makes the film one of the longest superhero tentpole movies to ever be made. According to media reports, in private screenings of the film that were held before the runtime had been finalized, the runtime ran much longer.

The Batman marks Robert Pattinson’s first film where he steps into the shoes of the Dark Knight. The film also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Paul Dano as the latest incarnation of the Riddler. It is scheduled to be released theatrically on March 4.
