Ricky Gervais, the creator of After Life, is a happy man as his series about a devastated widower has become one of the recent successful shows of Netflix. The third season of After Life has been receiving overwhelmingly positive responses from the fans, who are heaping praise on the show and its creator. 

Ricky Gervais has responded to the unceasing outpour of good reviews. He tweeted, "I will never get over the reaction to After Life, and I'll probably never better it. Maybe I should retire. Or die. Yes. That's my cunning plan. Please use this photo on the news. Thanks. Best fans in the world."

After Life is a story of Tony Johnson (Ricky Gervais), who loses his wife Lisa Johnson (Kerry Godliman) to cancer. Grappling with grief, Tony battles depression and suicidal tendencies. The black comedy, despite the bleak set-up, is funny and teems with characters that are weird and relatable at the same time. 

Other than Ricky Gervais, the show also stars Tom Basden, Tony Way, Diane Morgan, Penelope Wilton, and more. All three seasons of After Life is streaming on Netflix.
