Joshua Jackson to star opposite Lizzy Caplan in Fatal Attraction series adaptation

CE Features

Actor Joshua Jackson has been roped in to play the lead in the upcoming Fatal Attraction series adaptation. The actor will headline the series opposite Lizzy Caplan.

The series will reimagine the original 1987 film, which starred Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. The story followed Dan Gallagher (Douglas), a married businessman who engages in an affair with an attractive book editor, Alex (Close). But after Dan tries to end his affair with Alex, she becomes unstable and attempts to ruin his marriage and his life.

Jackson is set to take on the role of Gallagher, and while Caplan will Alex. The series has a script written by Alexandra Cunningham, who also wrote the story along with Kevin J Hynes. The reimagination will look at the story through a contemporary lens, and explore current views of marriage, gender roles, and mental illness.

Cunningham will serve as showrunner in the series. She will also executive produce alongside Hynes. Amblin Television presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will also produce.
