Jelani Alladin joins the cast of Beauty and the Beast prequel series

The series is headlined by Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Fra Fee, and Briana Middleton

Actor Jelani Alladin has joined the cast of the upcoming Beauty and the Beast prequel series which is in development at Disney+. The news comes just a day after it was announced that actor Fra Fee of Hawkeye fame has joined the series.

The series stars Luke Evans , who reprises his role as Gaston from the 2017 live-action movie, Josh Gad as LeFou (also known as Louie), and Fee as Prince Benoit Berlioz, the friend of LeFou's sister Tilly (Briana Middleton).

The prequel series is set to take place years before we meet Gaston and LeFou in Belle's world, and features both Gaston and LeFou going on a journey with Tilly as they set out on an adventure connected to Tilly's past. Alladin will play Jean-Michel, a talented artist who has a quick wit, a sharp intellect, and a fierce independent streak.

Alladin's previous work includes the Broadway adaptation of FrozenThe Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tick, Tick....BOOM!

The prequel series has Gad, Edward Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz serving as the showrunners and executive producers, with Lisel Tommy directing the show's pilot episode.
