Real Steel television series in development at Disney+

A television adaptation of filmmaker Shawn Levy's Real Steel is in early development at Disney+.

The 2011 original starred Hugh Jackman as a washed-up boxer who reconnects with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) as they build and train a fighting robot to fight in the World Robot Boxing championship. The film also starred Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly and Hope Davis.

Details about the plot, cast and crew of the film are yet unknown, and the studio is currently looking for writers for the series.

Levy, Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Jacqueline Levine, Susan Montford and Don Murphy will executive produce the series.
