Josh Hartnett is the latest addition to the cast of Christopher Nolan's World War II film, Oppenheimer. He will be joining the previously announced cast, which includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Rami Malek, and Benny Safdie.

Incidentally, Hartnett was among one of Nolan's choices to play Bruce Wayne in his superhero film Batman Begins, but the filmmaker eventually opted for Christian Bale. Oppenheimer marks their first collaboration.

The film is currently in development at Universal Studios and tells the story of J Robert Oppenheimer (played by Murphy), the scientist who spearheaded the Manhattan Project and invented the atomic bomb.

The film is set to release worldwide on July 21, 2023.
