Forrest Gump trio Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis, and Eric Roth reunite for Here

CE Features

Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis and writer of the classic Eric Roth are joining hands again after 30 years for a new film Here. Adapted from the 2014 graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire. The project, which is still in development is reported to have attracted multiple studios and streamers already.

Here is an acclaimed graphic novel that tells the story of a single room over an expansive period of time. The novel delved into the stories of the people who occupied the room from the past and into the distant future.

It may be noted that the concept of Here sounds very similar to the yesteryear Tom Hanks film Cloud Atlas, which also spanned a great period and featured the interlinked stories of different characters.

Hanks is currently busy with Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, A Man Called Otto (the English language remake of A Man Called Ove), and will be playing Geppetto in Pinocchio. Hanks, was recently seen in Finch, Greyhound, News of the World, and Borat: Subsequent Movie Film.

Here will be produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s production company Playtone, as well as Robert Zemeckis’s production company Imagemovers. There is currently no release date set for Here.
