A live-action Barbie movie headlined by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has been in development for some time now, and the latest is that actor Kate Mckinnon has joined the cast of the film. Earlier, actors America Ferra and Simu Liu were also announced to be part of the cast.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the script with writer-filmmaker Noah Baumbach. The film has Robbie playing the titular role and Gosling playing Ken. Like Ferrera and Liu, the role Mckinnon is set to play remains unknown at the moment.

Barbie is produced by Robbie under her LuckyChap Entertainment production banner along with LuckyChap’s Tom Ackerley. Robbie Brenner will also produce through Mattel, as will David Heyman via Heyday Films. LuckyChap’s Josey McNamara and Mattel’s Ynon Kreiz serve as executive producers.

Mckinnon is best known for her current sting on Saturday Night Live. The actor will soon be seen as Carole Baskin in Hulu’s Tiger King series Joe vs. Carole.
