Actor Zoe Saldana will headline and executive produce Yellowstone-fame Taylor Sheridan's upcoming series Lioness.

Created by Sheridan, Lioness is set to be written and showrun by Tom Brady. The story follows Joe (Saldana), the station chief of the titular Lioness CIA program. The program was created to respect the local customs of Middle Eastern countries by having female soldiers search local women as opposed to male recruits. Joe oversees the undercover military group in their mission to take down some of the world's most dangerous terrorists

Actor Nicole Kidman executive produces the series through her production company, Blossom Films. The filming of the series is set to begin in June.

Meanwhile, Saldana is most famous for titles such as James Cameron's Avatar, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. She will reprise her role as Gamora in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Saldana will also appear opposite Ryan Reynolds in the Netflix film The Adam Project.
