Nicholas Cage has reportedly joined the cast of A24’s upcoming film titled Dream Scenario. The film is directed by Norwegian director Kristoffer Borgli, he is known for his debut film Sick of Myself, which was released in 2022. Ari Aster, the director of horror films like Hereditary and Midsommar, will be co-producing the film under his banner Square Peg along with A24.
Nicholas Cage’s 2021 film Pig received widespread critical acclaim, going on to win the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay and was nominated for Critics Choice Award for Best Actor. The actor was recently seen in the meta action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent where he played a fictionalised version of himself.
Although Dream Scenario is confirmed to fall under the comedy genre, details regarding the plot and cast are currently being kept under wraps by the production house. Ari Aster, who is also co-writing the film with director Borgli, will reportedly join the production after completing work on his upcoming directorial Disappointment Blvd. Known for their gritty thrillers, this is the first time A24 is making a film that tackles the comedy genre.
