Chris Rock turns down offer to host Oscars next year

Chris Rock has reportedly turned down the offer to host Oscars next year, following the controversy where he was slapped by Will Smith for pulling a joke on his wife Jada Pinkett Smith at the Oscars event held earlier this year.

Chris has earlier hosted the event twice, in 2005 and 2016.

According to Deadline, Chris publicly stated at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix that he turned down the offer to host the Oscars event in March next year. He also added that he had been offered a Super Bowl commercial, but declined that as well.
