Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd join adaptation of R L Stine’s Zombie Town

Actors Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd are reportedly joining the cast of Zombie Town. The film is an adaptation of a book of the same name written by the celebrated author of Goosebumps novels, R L Stine. Zombie Town is billed as a ‘Mystery teen romance’ and also stars Henry Czerny, Marlon Kazadi, and Madi Monroe.

Peter Lepeniotis, who worked as an animator for projects like Toy Story 2, is directing the film. His directing credit includes the 2014 film The Nut Job and Gnome Alone which was released in 2018. Zombie Town will reportedly revolve around a quiet unassuming town where a group of young boys goes to watch a film named Zombie Town, chaos unfolds when the characters in the film start leaping off the screen and terrorize people in the real world.

Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd were both known for starring in several comedy classics in the 80s and 90s. Chase is known for the National Lampoon film series while Aykroyd is most known for playing Ray Stantz in the original Ghostbusters film series. Both the actors were last seen together in the 1991 dark comedy film Nothing But Trouble.

The film is set to stream on Hulu and then get a theatrical release in 2023, the release date for which is yet to be announced.
