The first look video for Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix series Cabinet of Curiosities has been released online. The anthology series was developed for Netflix by the director and will feature different directors and their visions for every episode.

Greenlit in 2018, the show comprises eight episodes, each written and directed by filmmakers selected by Del Toro himself to bring his vision to the screen. In the first look video, the director says, "In this anthology, we gave ownership of each episode to the directors.”

The teaser video gives us a chilling glimpse at the dark and macabre world in which the stories take place. True to the style of  Guillermo del Toro, the show will feature intricate practical effects and creature designs.

Jennifer Kent, who directed the critically acclaimed horror film Babadook, Guillermo Navarro, who directed Lot 36 based on Del Toro’s script, Vincenzo Natali, who directed Splice, and Keith Thomas who made Firestarter, are some of the directors who will be helming their own episode in the anthology.

Netflix is planning to release the episodes across four days, starting with the first two episodes on 22 October.
