Alexander Calvert, best known for playing Jack Kline in Supernatural, has joined the cast of The Boys spinoff show. The spinoff series titled Gen V revolves around a group of students in a superhero college run by Vought International. The show is set to be tonally similar to the Boys, with copious amounts of violence, gore, and R-rated humour.

The official synopsis released by the makers of the show says that Gen V is “...part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.” Joining Calvert in the cast are Lizzie Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are on-board as showrunners while the executive producers for the Boys are also part of Gen V.  Talking about the show, the showrunners revealed, “our spinoff will exist in the Vought Cinematic Universe, yet have a tone and style all its own. It’s our take on a college show, with an ensemble of fascinating, complicated, and sometimes deadly Young Supes.”
