It has been announced that a biopic of Hollywood's golden age icon, Cary Grant, is currently in development. Titled Archie, after the celebrated actor's birthname (Archibald Alexander Leach), Grant's life will be adapted into four-part series, Deadline reports.

Jason Isaacs will portray Grant in the series, set to be produced by ITV and BritBox. Jeff Pope, whose credits include Philomena and Stan & Ollie, will write the series and serve as an executive producer and the series will premiere on the streaming service, IVTX, which is yet to be launched.

According to Deadline, the series will parallelly explore Grant's formative years and harsh conditions during his upbringing—coping with his father's adultery and death of his older brother--while delving into his relationship with Dyan Cannon in the early 60's. Cannon and her daughter Jennifer Grant have reportedly gave their blessing for the show.

Further details related to the show are expected to be revealed shortly. On the other hand, Isaacs was recently seen in Sex Education and has A Winter’s Journey coming up.
