The George Clooney-Brad Pitt film, which is set to be directed by Jon Watts, has landed at Apple Studios. The project had hit the market last week, triggering an intense bidding war amongst studios such as Sony, Lionsgate, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Annapurna, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros.

Though plot details are scarce, the film will reportedly tell the tale of two lone-world fixers assigned to the same job.

Watts is also producing along with Clooney and Pitt, who will produce via their respective production labels, Smokehouse Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.

Watts is the director behind Tom Holland's three Spider-Man movies as well as indie hits like Cop Car and Clown.

Notably, Clooney and Pitt last starred onscreen together in the Ocean’s 11 movies. They were also seen in the Coen Brothers' movie Burn After Reading.

Clooney most recently directed the Ben Affleck and Tye Sheridan-starrer The Tender Bar for Amazon. The film is set to open on December 17 in the US. Pitt, who won an Oscar for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, will next star in Bullet Train and filmmaker Damian Chazelle's Babylon.
