Khalid Abdalla will essay the role of Dodi Al-Fayed

Khalid Abdalla, best known for his roles in The Kite Runner and United 93 has joined the cast of the fifth season of The Crown, currently in works at Netflix.

It was earlier reported that the latest season of the acclaimed series will explore the relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed. While Elizabeth Debicki will be playing Princess Diana, Abdalla will essay the role of Dodi, Variety reports.

Moreover, Salim Daw, known for his roles in Kiss Me Before It Blows Up and Oslo, will play Dodi's father, Mohammed Al-Fayed. Further details related to the plot are currently under wraps.

Abdalla's other acting credits include Assassin's CreedTigers, Hanna, Our Kind of Traitor, and Green Zone.
