Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa gets a new release date

Furiosa, the prequel to the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road which was initially scheduled to release on June 23, 2023 has been postponed by a year. Warner Bros, the studio behind the project, has announced that the action film will now release on May 24, 2024.

The film tells the story of Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film with Anya Taylor-Joy set to essay the lead role, which Chris Hemsworth also plays a prominent role.

Moreover, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star in an undisclosed role in the film, which is set to enter production in 2022. Filmmaker George Miller will be returning to the director's chair with filming reportedly set to take place in  New South Wales, Australia. 

On the other hand, Anya Taylor-Joy has several films in her pipeline, including Last Night in Soho, The NorthmanThe Menu, and film under the direction of David O. Russell.
