Actor Ella Balinska has been roped in to headline a sci-fi thriller titled The Occupant.
The film will be directed by Hugo Keijzer from a script he co-wrote with Philip M Howe and Roelof-Jan Minneboo. The feature is an expansion of Keijzer's 2019 short film of the same name.
Balinska is all set to play Abby, who finds herself stranded in the icy Russian wilderness during a desperate quest for her dying sister's survival. There, she finds a mysterious helper who may or may not be her salvation.
The Occupant is produced by Raymond van der Kaaij for Revolver Amsterdam, alongside Dutch producer Maurice Schutte and Elwin Looije. The production will begin next year, with shoots planned in Georgia and Ireland.
Meanwhile, Balinska will next be seen in the upcoming Resident Evil series from Netflix.
