If the speculation turns true, Blunt is said to play Katherine Vissering Oppenheimer, the wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the lead scientist of the Manhattan Project, which brought the atomic bomb to the world. J. Robert Oppenheimer will be played by Blunt's A Quiet Place 2 co-star Cillian Murphy. The Nolan directorial is scheduled to begin production in early 2022.

Oppenheimer will be an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

Oppenheimer is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2023.
