Emmy winner Damian Lewis has exited the Showtime show, Billions. He will no longer play Bobby Axelrod, aka Axe, in the Wall Street drama.

Lewis starred in the Brian Koppelman and David Levien-created show for five seasons.

Billions revolves around Wall Street maverick Bobby Axelrod (Lewis) and US Attorney Chuck Rhoades, played by Paul Giamatti, involved in a cat and mouse game. While Lewis will not be part of the sixth season, actors Giamatti, Corey Stoll and Maggie Siff will return for the season, which will premiere on January 23.

Meanwhile, Daniel Breaker, who plays the recurring role of Scooter, the chief of staff to Michael Prince (Stoll), has been upped to series regular.

Stoll joined the show as a guest star in season five as a new threat to Axe, and has now been promoted as series regular for season six.
