The much-awaited second instalment of Doctor Strange, titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is reportedly undergoing significant reshoots.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new shoot will last for six weeks in Los Angeles, with the team shooting six days a week.

While some reports state that the reasons for reshoots include actor availability issues and COVID-related obstacles, others suggest that that the reshoots involve large story rewrites.

Written by Michael Waldron, the sequel film will be directed by Sam Raimi after Scott Derrickson, who helmed the first part, exited the project over creative differences.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently set to release in theatres on May 6, 2022.
