Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has tested positive for COVID-19.

The actor was set to star as Professor Harold Hill in the Meredith Willson musical, The Music Man, at the Winter Garden Theater, Broadway, New York City

Jackman shared a video on his Twitter account to notify his fans about his health status. "I just wanted you to hear from me that I tested positive this morning for Covid. My symptoms are like a cold: I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose, but I'm fine," he said."And I'm just going to do everything I can to get better, ASAP, and as soon as I'm cleared, I'll be back on stage (sic)," he added.

Earlier, Jackman's The Music Man co-star Sutton Foster had contracted the virus, and it was announced that all performances would be cancelled until Saturday, January 1.

The revival show was expected to open in September 2020 before the pandemic. The preview shows of the musical began on December 20 but had to cancel its December 25 performance and December 26 matinee citing COVID breakthrough cases.
