Denis Villeneuve to helm film adaptation of sci-fi novel Rendezvous With Rama

The film will be produced by Alcon Entertainment

Dune-director Denis Villeneuve is all set to direct the film adaptation of Arthur C Clarke's popular sci-fi novel Rendezvous With Rama. Alcon Entertainment recently required the rights to the film adaptation.

Published in 1973, the story of the novel is set in the 2130s and involves a 31 by 12 mile cylindrical alien starship that enters the Solar System. The story is told from the point of view of a group of human explorers who intercept the ship in an attempt to unlock its mysteries.

Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove of Alcon will produce the feature along with Lori McCreary and Morgan Freeman.

Notably, Alcon Entertainment also produced two of  Villeneuve’s films - Prisoners starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, and Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

Villeneuve recently directed the critically acclaimed Dune and is busy with the production of the sequel.
