Actor Jaime Pressly is set to make a return to CBS after her hit series Mom, with a multi-camera comedy series titled The Porch. The series will also reunite the actor with Mom's co-executive producer Susan McMartin.

Based on an idea by Pressly, The Porch has a screenplay written by McMartin from a story written by her and Pressly. The series centres on a recently divorced woman LJ (Pressly), who returns home to a small North Carolina island that she couldn't wait to leave to bury a mom she couldn't stand. She finds herself staying far longer than she ever imagined, reconnecting with the “porch” folks she never felt a part of and falling in love for the first time with the train wreck of a mother who is no longer alive.

The actor will also executive produce the series along with McMartin and Aaron Kaplan for Kaplan Entertainment.

Pressly previously starred as Jill Kendall opposite Allison Janney on Mom, which wrapped its eight-season run in May. The actor recently won a supporting actress Emmy for her role as Joy Turner in My Name Is Earl, along with a Golden Globe nomination. On the film side, Pressly recently joined the indie movie The Re-Education of Molly Singer.
