The growing cast of Rosaline, 20th Century's reimagination of Romeo and Juliet, has roped in actor Spencer Stevenson. The actor will join Kaitlyn Dever, Kyle Allen, Sean Teale, Isabela Merced, Minnie Driver and Bradley Whitford in the film.

The film stars Dever as the titular character, Merced as Juliet, and Allen as Romeo. Based on the novel When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle, the film is directed by Karen Maine. The feature has a script adapted to screen by 500 Days of Summer scribes Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber.

The story retells the famous love story through the eyes of Rosaline, Juliet's cousin, an idealistic young woman who also happens to be Romeo's recent ex. She attempts to foil the romance between the famous couple and win Romeo back. It takes her on a journey of self-discovery and she ultimately works to help the star-crossed lovers get back together.

Stevenson will play the role of Paris, Rosaline's best friend and confidant, who finds himself mixed up in the storyline.

Rosaline is produced by 21 Laps, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. Emily Morris and Becca Edelman are overseeing for 21 Laps; Sarah Shepard is overseeing for 20th Century.

Stevenson’s previous credits include The Purge and Augustine Frizzell’s Never Goin’ Back. He has also appeared in episodes of Mindhunter and One Mississippi.
