Everything Everywhere All at once cast to reunite for American Born Chinese; First look out

The series is based on Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel of the same name

Actors Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu, who starred as a generational family in the Daniels’ award-winning absurdist comedy-drama film Everything Everywhere All At Once, are part of the upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese.

Produced by 20th Television, the series is written and executive produced by Kelvin Yu. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for marvel studios. 

According to reports, the series follows Jin Wang (Ben Wang), the son of Chinese immigrants, who is struggling with his school life and personal life in the US. Wang meets a new foreign exchange student at his school and subsequently, he is led into the fantasy realms of Chinese mythology and he encounters spiritual creatures like Guanyin, the goddess of mercy, played by Yeoh.

Meanwhile, Everything Everywhere All At Once was released in March 2022 and it bagged many accolades. In the 80th Golden Globe awards, Yoh and Quan won the best actress and best supporting actor awards, respectively.
