Serious Men trailer out: Nawazuddin Siddiqui is out to dupe the world

The trailer of Serious Men, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is out. Adapted from Manu Joseph’s book, the satirical-drama is directed by Sudhir Mishra.

The trailer introduces Ayyan Mani (Nawazuddin), a middle-class Mumbaikar with dreams of climbing up in life. His mantra, as he explains, is based on the ‘4G model’, where the fourth generation of an under-privileged family is able to join the world of ‘serious men’. That comes true, somewhat, when Ayyan’s son exhibits a natural affinity for science and academics. Ayyan will milk this talent to improve his family’s fortunes.

Serious Men is set to premiere on Netflix on October 2. The film also stars Aakshath Das, Shweta Basu Prasad, Nassar and Indira Tiwari.

“The great thing about Manu Joseph’s novel is that it is funny and wacky, yet deeply emotional,” Sudhir Mishra shared. “The film charts its own graph for the transformation of the story to another medium, but it still remains an endearing story of a father’s desire to create a bright future for his son. It is a delight to bring this tale to the world along with a creative partner in Netflix. The film may be specific in its articulation, but it is very universal at the same time.”
