Gurkha Trailer breakdown: Yogi Babu is both an Ajith and Vijay fan in it

The film, with music by Raj Aryan, is all set to hit screens next month

"After watching this film, anyone found talking about logical issues in our film or dissing us on video or online will be attacked by our Gujal Janda doll tonight."

On that ominous note, the Gurkha trailer begins. In a place called Jalsalayam, we are introduced to Namo Narayana who appears to be a religious figure expounding about sex. Soon after we see a mall, inventively named as The Madras Mall, being besieged by terrorists and Livingston (who is either a collector or a chief secretary) giving a hard time to police officials on the ground.

The terrorists don't seem to be the funny type and they all seem to be channeling the menacing Hans Gruber from Die Hard and Yogi Babu seems to be the Bruce Willis of this film. Just two differences - Yogi Babu is a Gurkha and is a comical one at that.

Recreating the tunnel scene from Kaththi, Yogi Babu says "I'm waiting" to no one in particular. He then arrives in a kick scooter to face-off against the terrorists at the basement of the mall. It looks like this isn't just Die Hard but also channels Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

The film is then all of a sudden self-aware as a guy dressed in a blue shirt wonders aloud where the makers have taken the story of this movie from (Hint: They are mocking at another famous blue shirt wearing online reviewer). We then get shots of Ravi Maria, TM Karthik, Devadarshini, Manobala, and Anandraj further hinting at the comedic nature of the film and Yogi Babu climbing the ropes of a lift mouthing the famous "Never ever given up" Ajith dialogue from Vivegam.

Of course, the trailer ends with what Sam Anton promised, the true hero of Gurkha, the dog.

The film, with music by Raj Aryan, cinematography by Krishnan Vasanth, and editing by Antony Ruben, is all set to hit screens next month.

Yogi Babu, meanwhile, will be seen in a slew of films like Airaa, Kuppathu Raja, Gorilla, 100% Kadhal, Adangathey, and Maanik.
